Go green and offset your carbon footprint!
You now have the option to reduce your carbon footprint at registration. Fifteen Trees will organise the planting of one tree for every registration that we receive. The trees are Australian natives and will be planted during the winter by local environmental groups. Fifteen Trees will plant one tree on your behalf for $5 (payable during registration).
Once planted, updates will be posted on the Fifteen Trees website.
Why trees?
Planting trees benefits the environment in many ways. Trees absorb the carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, provide native wildlife with habitat, create green corridors, improve biodiversity, and help reverse the effects of erosion and rising water tables, preventing soil salinity.
Where will the trees come from?
The trees are purchased from local nurseries that specialise in native tube stock. All trees planted are native to their area.
Who will plant the trees?
Fifteen Trees will purchase and distribute native trees to Landcare and community groups, universities, schools, and landowners to be planted on public and private land.
Feedback
Once the trees have been planted delegates will have the opportunity to view the trees via the blog on the Fifteen Trees website. The community groups who plant the trees send in photos and comments which are then updated onto the blog pages.Fifteen Trees Background
