Conference Venue

The University of Ballarat is the only regionally headquartered, multi-sector university in Australia and is an ideal venue for linux.conf.au 2012. Located in the tranquil bushland of Mt Helen a short trip from the centre of Ballarat, the campus is set on 110 hectares of tranquil natural bushland. The campus also boasts a large, heated indoor pool, fully equipped fitness centre and gymnasium, sports oval, tennis courts and bushwalking trails that are all available to delegates of linux.conf.au 2012.

Set in picturesque bushland, the University of Ballarat residences offer comfortable, single, fully furnished rooms with in room data providing access to the conference network. Communal living areas contain TV/Lounge areas in addition to fully equipped kitchens. The 2 halls located on the Mt Helen campus offer over 350 beds in total, all within a short (flat) walk to the conference buildings as well as the sporting and recreational facilities of the university. Rooms come with the option of a full cooked breakfast.
